This is an overview of all the cruising we have done so far - most of them together - since we met in the middle of the 90's. The list starts with the most recent ones. it is also possible to navigate by using the table on the right.
In the beginning Maria was not too sure if she could convince Juergen to go on a cruise. But as a lot of our friends who have the same hobby know already: "Cruising is addictive!" Though Juergen does not like to dress formally both of us now love dressing up.
Though a few cruise companies do not use the dresecode "Formal" anymore but it is enough to dress "Evening Chic" and the German Tui Cruises never even had a dresscode at all (Only "no shoes, no shirt, no service" is the policy in the restaurants and bars!).

2020 was the "COVID Year". All direct flights from Florida to Frankfurt or other German airports were stopped.
As we wanted to avoid a stopover in one of the "Hot Spots" like New York and Chicago we applied for an extension of our stay at USCIS and stayed a full year in Florida. Of course no options for travel were available!
On January 6th, 2021, we flew back to Germany. Unfortunately our hope to return to Florida shortly did not come true.

April/May 2010:
Celebrity Equinox is a ship of the "Solstice-Class". Celebrity designed these ships very modern with a lot of white.
First we feared that the overall impression would be a bit sterile but in the end we really liked the design.
Shortly before the start of the cruise there was a massive volcanic eruption in Iceland which caused a complete standstill of the European air traffic.
So a lot of Europeans booked the cruise on short notice as the only means to reach Europe. This resulted in a full booking of the transatlantic which is unusual for that itinerary.

Besides the fact that we prefer cruising back to Europe instead a 10-hour flight during the night we were highly interested in the ports of this itinerary on the NOORDAM:

For the first time since she was built the Disney Magic was scheduled to cross Atlantic to Europe.
Before boarding in Port Canaveral we had planned a roadtrip through Georgia.

September to October 2006:
Maria retired in May 2006. She still had to do some follow-ups and train her successor.
But in autumn there was the time for a really long vacation.
We started with a 10-day trip through the west of Canada and followed it up with a 35-days cruise on the MS VEENDAM.
As we were planning to stay the wintertime in Florida for the future
we had rented a vacation home in Cape Coral, at Florida's gulfcoast to give living in Florida a try.
